scalamobil – climb stairs safely and with ease

Mobile stair climbing device for wheelchairs

scalamobil - The mobile stair climbing aid for your wheelchair

Every step becomes an obstacle when you can no longer climb stairs independently due to an illness or disability.

With the scalamobil, wheelchair users can climb stairs flexibly again and remain comfortably seated in their wheelchair. The scalamobil is compatible with most commercially available wheelchair models and can be mounted quickly and without tools.

The sensors integrated in the scalamobil facilitate control for the operator and guarantee the highest level of safety in addition to smooth movement.

”Finally, I can get out of the house again and visit my grandchild.”

What is the difference between a mobile stair climbing aid and a stair lift?

Unlike stair lifts, our mobile stair climbing aids do not require any structural changes. This means no energy-consuming discussions and coordination in owners' meetings and no waiting for craftsmen.

Our mobile stair-climbing aids are independent of stair coverings and stairwells. In addition, Alber products are reimbursable by the statutory health insurance.

Space-saving – simply take it with you no matter where you go.

scalamobil can be used anywhere. In a flash, your stair climber can be dismantled into compact individual parts and will even fit in a small trunk.

Quality from the market leader: Our drive components are developed and manufactured completely in Albstadt. 80 % of the primary materials also come from Germany.

Alber Service. We invest in long-term customer satisfaction. Our Service Center is characterized by rapid response and competent service partners.

Where can I try the scalamobil and what does it cost?

We would be happy to demonstrate the scalamobil to you free of charge and without any obligations at your home. Your local medical product retailer will also happily advise you on mobility aids from Alber. Alber products are eligible for reimbursement from health insurance companies (only for Germany). You generally only pay a contribution of €10 (only for Germany). Apply for our products with a prescription (only for Germany). We are happy to advise you!

  • scalastuhl X3

Due to its small dimensions, the foldable scalamobil X3 is a useful alternative to a normal wheelchair, especially in small flats or narrow staircases. The holder for the scalamobil is already integrated in the scalastuhl X3. This means that it can be removed in just a few steps and used as a sliding chair for indoor use.

The scalastuhl X3 is also suitable for transporting special seat shells that can be mounted by medical supply retailers using adapters. The upholstery is removable and washable. The scalastuhl X3 is folded in one easy step and can be stored in a space-saving way.

Headrests for comfortable sitting as well as push handles and a belt system complete the scalastuhl X3.

  • scalaport X7

In combination with the scalamobil, the scalaport X7 makes it possible to climb stairs with many different wheelchairs without having to mount a bracket to the respective wheelchair. Even the large wheels of the wheelchair do not have to be removed for climbing stairs.

The scalaport X7 has been developed especially for care facilities, transport services and public buildings such as schools or museums. In addition, wheelchairs whose frame geometry does not allow the mounting of a bracket for the scalamobil can also be transported in the private sector.

The folding mechanism of the scalaport x7 allows space-saving storage and easy transport.

Further information as well as weight and dimensions can be found in our scalaport X7 info brochure.

  • Combination with comfort wheelchairs

Selected comfort wheelchairs can also be combined with the scalamobil using a special bracket so that people requiring support can be easily transported up or down stairs.

    • With clip function for scalamobil and scalacombi

    • Max. weight of the person 60 kg
    • Alternatively, the scalaport X7 can also be used to transport narrow wheelchairs as of a seat width of 26 cm
  • Tilt bar

    • Makes it easier to tilt the wheelchair when overcoming obstacles (not suited to scalastuhl X3)
